Mob Test V2

Currently working on the next update for BINARY. Took a minute to review the mobile test layout available here.

The mobile layout is vertically scrolling content with a complete rework of images and layout – hence it only contains some content.

As mentioned in the comments I’m not a fan of this approach which is widely used on engines such as tapas.io, but I’m curious to know whether readers (stats say there are readers) prefer it as well…

Desktop now has a chapter sidebar, mobile has a slide-in chapter menu. For me to push on with this approach will require an updated workflow… not sure how to make that happen as of yet.

Goodbye Instagram Hello Pixelfed?

So i’m testing out alternate social networks – in this case federated networks (Mastodon, Pixelfed) both which can connect to each other using activitypub (well, mastodon can pick up pixelfed content).

Both are fine, pixelfed is a direct clone of instagram UI, though I think its more due to time/resource limitations than anything.

Not a gamechanger IMO – setting up your own instance of small group use is cool, but when you are trying to connect to others, get work out there you want to be where everyone else is, these federated instances don’t do a good enough job of letting that happen.

For a place to dump art pixelfed might be quite useful, but then again, if connections arent important so would a blog right?

I’ve changed the link at the top as the instagram feed is now K-Oed

DELAYED GRAT

I have been working – 10 Pages of new art created ready to go – could start work on adding /crafting copy.

More characters on screen = longer time to prep go figure.

But in this case I’m not happy with the break point. Feels too much like more setup (even if important) Feel a need to get to the action so I will work up ~5 more pages. Before releasing.

Chipping away

BINARY Page in progress

The shift in workflow has started to bear fruit – I find I am able to get work done more frequently, which is a good feeling.

Getting used to the change of hardware / software too, though I find myself jumping back to the old approach for some things…

Getting through the page art though, Have blocked out all of the 9 pages, keeping busy. Working with more people in the panels is increasing the time –
